Mailgun Inspect Lets Teams Flag a Broken Preview and Assign the Fix
Mailgun Inspect now lets teams comment on email tests, flag problem renders and tag the teammate who owns the fix, with unlimited seats.

Mailgun Inspect, the company’s email preview and QA tool, now lets teams comment on a test, flag emails with problems and tag the teammate who owns the fix, Mailgun said in its Oct. 20 release notes. The features work in the Inspect web app.
Comments and flags sit on the preview itself
Mailgun said comments and flags are attached to the rendered email. The feedback stays with the client that showed the problem. A reviewer can filter a test down to the flagged emails instead of paging through every render in the batch.
Tagging a teammate assigns the fix, according to Mailgun. The tagged person gets an email notification.
Collaboration works only in the web app
Mailgun said the collaboration tools are not part of the Inspect Chrome or VS Code extensions. Tests sent to an Inspect email address need a newly generated address to get the new features. Mailgun said to open any new test in the web app to start.
Mailgun said Inspect includes unlimited seats, with no per-user cost for added reviewers. It also said flags pair with Inspect’s HTML email editor. That keeps the fix and the retest in one place.
The take
We think the useful part is where the feedback is stored, not the buttons. A screenshot in Slack separates the note from the render. The person fixing it has to guess which client and which version was meant. A flag on the render removes the guessing.
Seat pricing matters here too. Email QA usually involves people outside the team that builds the email, such as a designer, a lawyer or a brand lead. A tool that charges per seat pushes that review into other channels. Teams already on Inspect should try one real campaign through the flag-and-tag flow. Check whether the Slack screenshots stop.
